do you think its gets old to go out every day and catch fish and big fish,over and over and over?

I think in any sport, you appreciate victory so much more when you know what defeat feels like. So, yeah, it's my bad days on the water that makes me love those good days.

My wife went with me one day and I found the fish stacked like cord wood. After about 25 fish in 45 minutes she asked, "How many do you have to catch before it's not fun anymore?"

I told her I've been doing this since I was a little kid and I I'll have to let her know when I get there.

Can get a little tiring if doing for a living...we ran two charter boats out of port a in the late 70s early 80s.. Up at 0430,, fish all day,, clean boat,, go home collapse ,,,get up do it again,,,, one summer did 40 something days in a row no day off.

Nope....what does get old is catching GIANTS all the time and then struggling just to catch keepers on tourney day. Haha

JWCromer - when did you stop taking your meds ?

Before I moved I had small/mid sized lake that I probably averaged 20+ fish per 4 hour outing; average weight was 3.5-4lbs. Not catching a 5lber was a rarity. 6's and the occasional 7's happened every year. I fished it almost weekly for the better part of 3 years. Fish tugging on the end of your line never gets old, but eventually the lack of variety starts to wear on you. Your mind wanders to lakes with true trophy potential even though you know normal top five weights will be lower.

Anyway, since I moved away it has taken a lot less time to start missing it than it did to get bored of it.

I'm chasing that DD, I have often wondered if it will not be as much fun after I catch her--if that day ever comes. I will probably just up the goal a few more pounds. I don't think it will ever get old, I have been fishing a long time and still get up early and go and get excited when I catch one.
