Launched in the Neches River off Hwy 31 and fished punch bait in an 8ft-deep channel. Kept 27 fish that resulted in almost exactly 3 lbs of filets. Lake Palestine is amazing for the numbers of small channels.

Yep. I catch a ton of those and a ton of blues on the south end about that size with the heads of 3 lbers. Lol.

Seems short on fillets for that many.

A lot of them were those little ones Palestine is known for. They are best when fried whole and eaten with your fingers like the racoons do. But, I fileted those also. Lake Palestine has so many of these that there is no minimum length limit and you can keep 50 per day!
