Has anyone fished this pond? It is inside an apartment complex called Carriage Homes on the Lake. I drive by it everyday and wonder...

There were fish in it when I was a kid, but that was 25 years ago. Idk if there is anything left. Good luck

Well that is good to hear they had fish in that pond at one time! Thanks for the response!

Better off trying somewhere else. Pond USED to be amazing... before they built the apartments. It's spring fed, but when they started construction, they pumped it down, to just a little puddle, just a few inches deep, to clean it out and "make it pretty". There wasn't anything left living. I'm sure since it's had water back in it, birds and such have dropped some fish in there, but I would bet on anything more than a couple juvinille bass, little sunfish, and maybe some mud cats... Used to be one hell of a bass pond. During the spawn, you could walk around it, and see so many big fish, your head would explode.

I drive by it regularly, and asked about it a couple years ago, same responses.

It "was" a good spot/pond, and the key is "was." Since it probably hasn't been fished in a while, who knows, things change!

Thanks for all of the responses. The apartment has it fenced off. I would have to ask permission if they would let me fish it... I live right behind that complex so may be worth the ask!

Make friends with someone in the office, get him/her to fish with you, no problem!

Fish the creek instead. I live right there too. I promise it'll be more productive. There's not gonna be anything but little fish, if there are fish at all, unless someone has stocked it then self, which is very unlikely. The creek always holds nice bass, catfish, carp, and if you find the right pockets, there are quite a few resident crappie.

I live in the neighborhood called "Charleston Commons." I am still pretty green when it comes to fishing. If you ever hit up that creek I would love to tag along!

+1 to fishing the creek instead of the pond! Won't make anyone from the apartment complex upset and you will see a lot more action.
