Any suggestions on how and where to catch them on Bridgeport in November?

Rocks should work especially for some smallies. Been a long time but we always had success around the rocky areas. Mayb mark perry will chime in as he fished it all the time for a while.

crank baits are off the chain this time of year on Bridgeport, try to match the hatch in size and throw your bait right into the bait balls that are all over the lake we found bait and fish with cranks as shallow as 1 foot. There are a lot of fish in the back of coves right now and wont pull out until the water cools down into. good luck

Fished there last Sunday morning and it's stained up quite a bit from the last two rains- I was really disappointed. They almost got 3/4" of an inch this week so it will be even more stained. I caught my fish throwing a big ol spinner bait up shallow in the willows. I then loaded up and went to Amon Carter and it was a little bit better.

Depending on the weather Bridgeport can be really good in November. Its just not a great cold water lake for some reason and gets a bit tougher in winter. The unseasonably warm weather the fish are just now starting to get to a early fall pattern.
I was out there the day before yesterday and water clarity was just fine. As clear as its been all summer at least. Good visibility and not muddy or even really stained. I fished the river as well as main lake. I will say I think there is a bit of turnover happening. Also the warmer water is making a lot of algae and gunk grow on the flooded bushes. HUGE amount of shad up shallow right now. Fish were kinda in a funk but I still managed a decent amount of bites. They just are not chasing a bait too far but yet they want something moving. Its on odd bite for sure. Water temps were 76-80 degrees.
As far late October into winter if you want a good chance at a smallmouth I would focus on the east side of main lake. Focus on the transition areas where the rocks change sizes. I would also look for the gravel type bottoms. A chartreuse with brown back Wiggle Wart or similar bait is deadly on the smallmouth. Also a chatreuse pepper soft plastic Texas rigged is a good bet. The color breen in the Berkley Havoc line will work great out there. They will be up shallow.
They will really get active from about 3:00PM till dark and your chances of catching them improve. Keep a weightless fluke and a topwater ready as well in case the school up.
As for largemouth and spots just about any shad pattern squarebill, Bandit 200 or a Texas rig soft plastic in green pumpkin will get you bit. Mix in a 3/8 oz white buzzbait and a topwater as well. Pitch a jig up near any wood up shallow as well. They will gravitate to any laydown etc for some reason out there. I prefer the river area best for this. The flooded bushes will hold more fish as the water cools too. Last tip is to throw a hard jerkbait on the main lake rocks as well. You can catch some good fish that way.

Like I said as of 2 days ago the water was pretty clear and no signs of muddy water or stain noted. Heck I saw some really good fish cruising up shallow but they were too spooky and not interest in eating.

A good day this time of year can net you some 30-40 fish plus days if you spend a day out there. If you go long in an area without a bite keep moving. Too many fish out there to wait to long for a bite especially right now.

Hope this helps.

We fished our September club tournament out there and the water had about 2' visibility and the bite was awesome, weather it is turn over or an extra few inches of water from all the rain, visibility was about 6 inches, and the bite slowed

If you launch at Runaway Bay and stay on the east bank is it really rough in a 20 mph wind from the south?

throw a square bill in shad colors through balls of bait fish in pockets and hang on. This has been working, not catching any overs, but catching lots of numbers of unders and slots. just good fun util this pattern fades. good luck and thanks for the good report Mark

Thanks Rick. It looked like it would have to get rough ... as you said it lays N to S but with those pockets I believe I could find protected water. I drove around the lake visiting Wise County Park, looking from the dam, and then looking from Runaway Bay. I don't think I could see the kind of water that I hear about but I've got to try that lake. I'll launch at Runaway Bay and hug the east bank ... with a south wind maybe it won't be too bad.
