We started the spillway, no baitfish around and no crappie (usually pull up 3 baby crappie per shad) but there was NOTHING after lake casting and moving like 20 times, got 1 perch lol--- went to friendship park boat ramp, casted like 10-15 times, 2 smallllll perch-- moved to the peninsuale under the trees to the right and casted about 10 times, 6 shad--- went back and after about 5 hours of fishing, we had nada at the spillway-- one guy got 2 17 inch cats down below--- guys came to spillway from wilson fox bank saying they got skunked as well--- the guys fishing friendship bank were skunked all morning as well-- not sure how they were doing at the overlook--- Hope those on a boat had better luck!!

Anyone else go to Granger this last weekend?

We set juglines out Sat night and picked them up Sunday morning. Out of 10 jugs we caught 9 cats. We're catching them out in deeper water right now.

fished the lake on Saturday, caught plenty of shad throwin the castnet, but not even a bite from anything otherwise.fished the area directly straight out from the friendship ramp, then crossed over to the area to the east of all the trees. shad were jumping like crazy but nothing was biting.

Give man a fish, he'll eat for a day. Teach man to fish, he'll sit on a boat and drink beer all day.

Unfortunately bank fishermen are at a disadvantage. I would suggest chumming a few spots a couple of days before you go fishing. Now the shallow water bite should start soon.

I wish I still had friends out there near the lake. it's hard to get out there to chum when you got such a drive out there and back
