The creature baits and crawls used for a punching rig come in different lengths. Which length do you use most do the time? I see 3.75", 4", 41/2", and some longer. Will appreciate replies before I place an order.

Typically, the shorter the better. I feel like I get better penetration and less hangups with a bait that is 3 3/4 to 4 inches. If you have a mat that is ridiculously thick, it's better to have the shortest and most compact bait you can. The only exception would be a senko or similar bait.

Most of what I punch with is in that 4 inch range.
