Hey guys,
Just wondering if anyone has fished Coleto Creek recently and has a report. Any information is much appreciated.
Thank you.

Was there over the weekend. The bite was tough for us & only found a handful of small fish. Had not been in 2 years. Was very surprised and VERY disappointed to find that ALL the grass is GONE. Not a stitch of hydrilla or coon-tail anywhere.

Was there a couple of weeks ago, found decent fish on sharp drop offs along the channels. Wacky worms/senkos, watermelon red. Points only produced small fish, but they were there.

Well can't say I learned a lot but it's a nice lake and lots of trees...

1. I asked the Park Rangers about the lack of grass and I got a strong response " we had nothing to do with it!, it as mother nature, low water then muddy water"
3. Water is 3' low
3. Camp site No 8 was ok (even with 80s music playing all day next to us...) but the lower numbers are better.... and the second loop sites are better
4. Didn't venture very far up Coleto Creek (worried about stumps and the 3' low water)
5. Fishing; caught a few little ones off the main lake island and hump next to it. (Using crank baits) (had one good hit that broke off a drop shot fishing off the island towards the creek) Fished mostly in the large creek NW of the islands (nice cove) Caught a 6+ 1lbs bass and one 2+ that came off , (most using wacky rigged senko, Carolina rigged baby rattlesnake or drop shot baby rattlesnake, no luck at all with lots of square bills). also had a real nice hit flipping a black and blue jig rage-tail on the stumps but it lasted about 2 seconds till he spit it out...

I think I see my self going back in off peak times again, there wasn't to many boats out (maybe 2 dozen boats at the most)

Lake was fishing good last week. Friday and Saturday had a good shallow water bite on spinner baits. Caught 30 plus friday. Caught 17lbs on Saturday and at least 20 fish. That bite died Sunday and caught fish on shakey heads in 10 fow. Had another 17lbs. But only caught 8. One was 8.40 lbs.

Do white bass run the creek above the lake? Ever since the trinity had a fish ban put in it I have been searching for new water.

It appears that the fish were in 6 foot of water off points and hiding in structure. Depending on the time of day they were active on spinnerbaits or worms in trees.

Lake is 3' low, water temps were 76 at the discharge, 65 ish everywhere else. The white bass fishing is everycast around the island next to the crk drop with spoons. Some catfish can be caught on artificial baits lol. Black bass fishing is awesome! The lake is producing a lot of fish right now!

Are you referring to the island straight out from the park?
