Well folks, I just had the most memorable vacation of my life!!!!I bought the " Platinum Couples Package" @ Angler's Inn lake El Salto. It involved 3-1/2 days fishing @ El Salto, and 2-1/2 days @ Pueblo Bonito Emerald Bay Resort in Mazatlán. The staff @ Angler's Inn were simply FANTASTIC to us, and we wanted for nothing. My fiancé, who has travelled to many exotic locations around the world, said she has NEVER received service like we got @ Angler's Inn. To the point we almost cancelled the Resort portion of this trip to stay the entire time @ the lake. It was SO fantastic, I just finished booking another trip in January - minus the Mazatlán Resort, LOL.

They say a picture is worth a 1000 words, well, here ya go:

Our combined best 5 fish went 39-1/2 lbs.

Need I say more?

They can say what they want about the other lodges, but none are even close to Angler's Inn.

FWIW....my buddy and I went to el salto in march and we had great time...I believe we caught little over 300 fish in four days....we caught a bunch of 3-5lb fish and my biggest was 8.8lbs but I had two more on that may have been bigger on...they dived into the trees and I couldn't stop them......we went to picachos the previous march...both times we went with ron speed and food, accomodations, guides and boats were first class in every respect...

Flooringit - get the passport man!!! Just a few other details. We went just one day after the lodge reopened after being closed for 2 months for the rainy season. The lake was at darned near full pool, and if you look at the pictures of the lake behind us, that slightly green water, and the water coming right up to the green shore cover- basically a bass fishermans dream!!!!
The only drawback was that the lake was FULL of bait. Some of the coves we went into, when a bird would fly across it, would completely erupt with fleeing schools of Shad. And, this made the fishing a little tougher because of the quantity of available natural bait. BUT, our guide "Oscar" (Who Cheryl kept calling "Carlos", lol, and didn't speak all that much "ingles"), worked his butt off to find us just the right combo of bait & bass, that we skipped all the 3 pounders, and every bass we caught was BIG. The smallest we caught was a 4 pounder, and the biggest was 9-1/2 pounds. I sure wish I could have seen the one that snapped my 17 pound fluorocarbon like it was sewing thread, LOL.
One of the funniest things that happened, came right as we were leaving, and the whole staff were gathered around us, we told them we were coming back for sure, that "Oscar" our guide, said something in Spanish, that we asked Sammy to translate - Oscar said, when you come back, be sure and ask for OSCAR, NOT CARLOS!!! We laughed our butts off!!!
Tell you what, we have already booked the return, and we especially asked for "Oscar" not "Carlos".
My advice to all, get your passport, get the plane tickets, this is the most FANTASTIC place we've EVER been too!!!

(and they ain't payin me to say this!)

Another good option is Lake Huites and El Palamor lodge.
Have some spots left for 2/6 -2/12 2017 at a real great price
