Greetings Fishermen,

This week my girlfriend and I got out for some early morning kayak fishing at San Luis Pass and had solid stringers of Redfish and Trout. With the cooler water temps and higher than normal tides the fish have been holding in drop offs closer to the shoreline. The first gut at the pass on the back side of the toll booth is less than 100 yards from the shoreline and is holding solid fish. You can easily kayak to the area, anchor and wade fish the edges of the drop off casting up current and work your bait or lure back with the current. Last Tuesday we left the fish biting. Both live bait and artificial are working. You can catch a stringer of Flounder on Gulp, a stinger of Reds on live shrimp, finger mullet or gold spoons. Trout are hitting live shrimp, mullet and soft plastics.

At San Luis Pass Kayak we make it easy for you to get out and experience kayak fishing in one of the number one rated fishing areas on the Texas coast. Our Guided Kayak Fishing Trips include a fully outfitted fishing kayak ideal for drifting the flats and hooking up with Redfish, Spotted Sea Trout, Flounder and a variety of other saltwater species. Whether youre an accomplished angler or a novice to the sport, our experienced Kayak Fishing Instructors will teach you how to fish the flats safely and effectively while on a kayak so you can experience successful kayak fishing from the start.
