Well we have finally had a "cool" front so it's time to start thinking about catfishing again! Next tournament for the CTCT has been rescheduled from October 15th to October 22nd due to the Baylor home football game.

Oct 21st - Tournament registration and captains meeting will be held at a time and location TBD in Waco, TX. At this time we will be taking memberships, tournament registration, go over all rules, and how things will work on tournament day.

Oct 22nd - 5:30 a.m. - Boat inspections will be held in the parking lot OUTSIDE the fence at Brazos Park East in Waco, TX. This will be a quick inspection to ensure livewells are empty, check number of rods in boat, etc. At this time you will also be able to register for the tournament if you had not previously done so.

Oct 22nd - 6:00 a.m. - Gates open to Brazos Park East. At this time teams can enter the park, launch from any of the ramps inside Brazos Park East, and then head out to there honey hole.

Oct 22nd - 7:00 am - Lines in the water, time to put the big fish in the boat.

Oct 22nd - 3:00 pm - All hooks must be out of the water and it's time to head to weigh in.

Oct 22nd - 4:00 pm - Have 1 member in weigh-in line with you fish. Hopefully it takes both of you to carry them to the scales. We will begin weighing fish around 3:30. If you are not in line by 4:00 you will it be allowed to weigh in your fish.

Following all teams weighing we will take a few minutes to sort out results, award prizes, and hear some fish stories. We encourage everyone to come attend the weigh in, if you fished the tournament or not to see the fish that were caught and have a good time.

Remember all teams fishing from a SeaArk, Alumacraft, or Nautic Star boat OR a boat with a Yamaha Outboard will be eligible for our Marineland Boating Center Incentive Program. Any team that wins cash money from us running one of these brands in a tournament will have there winnings matched from Marineland Boating Center.

Also, I want everyone to be aware that a large part of the fishable water for this tournament is a no wake zone. It is not mandatory, but is highly encouraged that you attend the meeting. If you have any questions about the no wake zones they will be covered in this meeting. Keep checking back on this post for updates on when and where the meeting will take place.

Thank you Johnny. We are learning a lot as we go, and doing our best to make each event better than the previous. Our number of participants has been steadily growing and we belive that will continue. The more participants we have, the more sponsors we will be able to pick up. We are really just getting the ball rolling on what we hope to grow into the next 5-10 years.

Anyone considering fishing with us, don't wait till next year. After the Brazos we have our classic on December 3rd & 4th on Lake Whitney. Its going to be a good one! You DONT want to miss it.

Here is a little more information for folks coming to the Brazos Tournament. Everything on tournament day will happen at:

Brazos Park East located at 2878 N Martin Luther King Jr Blvd, Waco, TX 76704.

See pictures attached to this post for details of where things will happen throughout the day.

The star marks the main entrance to the park. The gate here will open at 6:00 am.

The white arrow marking the start of the inspection line is where we want the first boat that arrives to start the boat inspection line. Everyone else may line up behind them to form the line shown by the red lines in the pictures. Fill up the west side of the parking lot first, then the east side. If more room is needed we ask that you form a line on the shoulder of MLK Drive. We will inspect boats in this order and then teams will also be allowed into the park in this order. Bank & kayak fishing teams must be in this line and get inspected as well. We ask that everyone please pay close attention to these directions and follow them to help everyone get inspected and on the water as fast as possible.

Once you are inside the park there are 2 usable boat ramps. The main ramp is on the far northwest end of the park and right next to the pavilion that we will use for weight in. There is plenty of parking at this ramp. The second ramp is on the far southeast end of the park, right where you enter the park. Teams may put boats in here but parking at this ramp will be very limited. If you do use this ramp we still encourage you to park in the main boat trailer parking lot. There is a 3rd ramp located in the center of the park. To my knowledge the river has silted in here and made this ramp unusable for most boats. Use this ramp at your own risk!!

Anyone that is unable to register prior to October 22nd may register the morning of the tournament. We will be set up at the location marked by the "$" on the map to take registrations. If you plan to register the morning of please let us know in advance!!

Please share this post with anyone you think may be coming. A large part of the fishable water for this tournament is no wake zone and we know it may take some teams a long time to get to there spot. With a little cooperation from everyone we want to make sure things go off as smooth as possible to get everyone on the water and to there spot as fast as possible.

More useful information for the Brazos Tournament. The following text was taken straight from City of Waco Parks and Recreation Website and pertains to No Wake Zones.

Slow 'No-Wake Zone' in the following areas:

-On Lake Brazos (downtown area), between the Waco Drive Bridge and 200 years from the Lake Brazos Dam, just past McLane Stadium. (I am assuming 200 years should actually read 200 yards.)

-In the area of the Brazos Park East boat ramp, between the Mouth of the Bosque River and the MLK Jr., Bridge.

-On the Bosque River, between Brazos Park East and the Lakeshore Drive bridge.

-Recreational water sports are only allowed upstream on the Brazos River, starting at the MLK Jr. Blvd bridge.

It is prohibited to create a wake or wash that is hazardous to other watercrafts or persons while on Lake Brazos.

The No Wake Zones are shown in the yellow areas on the map. In addition, I have shown a red shaded region on the map which indicates a shallow water area. This area may, or may not be passable by boats depending on the type of boat and water level. Proceed through this area with caution.
