I use braided line so the palomar knot is for our hooks and weights when kittie fishing. But when we use mono we use a normal clench for the weight and a palomar knor for hooks. Kentucky rigged or dropper rigged idk what its called lol
Hi, I'm Faith and I'm addicted to fishing. Now if you don't mind, I'll be getting back to my fishing.

Snell is hard to beat on fish hooks when using mono. I don't think I have ever snelled with braid. Might try it out to see if there is a problem.

I snell my circle hooks onto a flouro or mono leader.
If using Octopus hooks, I use a split ring and tie to it.
For other than braided line I use a variant of the San Diego knot, seen it called many different names. Easy to tie and is a stout knot, been using it for about 30yrs now.
For braid, the tried and true Palomar.
That's about all the knots and differences I care to deal with while fishing.
If you're not living on the edge, you're taking up too much space!

When I was about 8 yrs old fishing for bluegill at Lake Arlington an old man saw me tying a hook onto my line with a granny knot. He showed me a knot that was easy to tie and cinched up well. I used that knot for many many years before it dawned on me that it was a hangman's noose!! Just use a minimum of three wraps when tying, and four is plenty. I still use it. Wet the knot before you snug it and it will snap (like a neck?) tight.

The hangman has never had any complaints about his knot!

I was three knots on my Carolina rig
Main line is 65-80lb braid to swivel I use a polomar knot
Other end of the swivel is my leader 50lb mono I use an improved cinch knot
And I snell a 7/0 circle sea hook.
Granted you have to start with the snell and work your way up and I use a 4oz no-roll sinker.

this, whatever its called. I was taught it is a blood knot.

Since I started using the snell knot on my circle and j hooks my hook ratio has been near 100%
If the fish don't bite your not baiting right...
