Didn't know whether to post this here or rods and reels, but this is where stuff sells so it seems more appropriate. I have a bunch of stuff I need to sell and have been researching values on line. I know there are some true equipment geeks (meant in the nicest way) on here. It looks like most stuff sells for values that seem to make sense, Shimano 200DHSV's for $100-$120, The old CU series for $60-$80, but the 200 e7 reels are selling on ebay, not listing, selling for $160+, there's one on there with 40 bids, a day left in the auction and it's over $190. I have several of these and I don't think I paid that much for them new. Why are they so highly valued?

The 200e7's were the last good curados. Everything since has been [censored], they keep changing parts to try and improve the price point. That's my take on it, I still fish the e7's. They're great reels! Got any lefties?

It's because the E series Shimanos were the best. They are highly sought after.
