I am currently running a 2009 Champion 206 with a Merc 250 Pro XS, I have a hydraulic jack plate, either 10 or 12 inch. not 100%. I am only getting about 66mph out of it WOT at 5900 RPMs. I feel it should run a little faster with that 250, somewhere in the 70-72 range.... The boat came with a 24P Tempest prop, and he gave me a new 25P Tempest Plus to go with it. But I have been thinking about changing to a 25-26P Fury. I have been told by Steve's propeller shop that the Fury props are for light weight boats and wouldn't work well on the Champion. Then C&O Marine told me that the Fury is more designed for heavier boats.... so im confused. Should I get the 24P worked, changed to the 25P tempest plus... or try a Fury? any input is appreciated. thanks.

In my opinion if Steve says it you can take it to the bank.

that's what I was thinking also. He recommended me getting the 24P or 25P tempest balanced and blueprinted and stay away from fury...

Well, you already have the 25p Tempest so try it and decide after you get those results

Sounds good - I talked to Josh, he said I may be fine with the 24P, just needed to have it worked. He said the 24P tempest was one of the worst props out of the box they have ever made. I am going to try a 25P Tempest Plus and a 25P Fury, then when I find the prop I like I am headed to Steve's propeller to have it balanced.

Its been a few years since I owned my 206 Champ, but from what I remember that 25p Tempest plus is your best bet, especially after you have it balanced and worked by Steve. IMO

Sounds perfect... that's what I'll do - Now just got to find time to go down and see Steve and Josh. Will be worth the trip.
