I am currently running a 2009 Champion 206 with a Merc 250 Pro XS, I have a hydraulic jack plate, either 10 or 12 inch, not 100%. I am only getting about 66mph out of it WOT at 5900 RPMs. I feel it should run a little faster with that 250, somewhere in the 70-72 range.... The boat came with a 24P Tempest prop, and he gave me a new 25P Tempest Plus to go with it. But I have been thinking about changing to a 25-26P Fury. I have been told by Steve's propeller shop that the Fury props are for light weight boats and wouldn't work well on the Champion. Then C&O Marine told me that the Fury is more designed for heavier boats.... so im confused. Should I get the 24P worked, changed to the 25P tempest plus... or try a Fury? any input is appreciated. thanks.

You're not for sure if you have a hydraulic jack plate or not?

I'd listen to Steve's prop shop. 66 seems right for a champion, you didn't buy in to speed...

I know it is a hydraulic, like I stated... I just don't know if it is a 10 or 12 inch jack plate.

Steve was saying it should run 70-72 with the 250 on it. speed doesn't really matter to me, its a great ride... but just want to get max performance out of it as possible.

You are probably about right with that propeller. I only get 66-69 depending on the temperature I am running a trophy plus 25 I'm thinking of trying a Bravo 1 xs 26p or a Fury 4 blade 25p to see if those are better all around props , our boats are just heavy .

Yes, but they sure ride good! best riding boat I have ever been in. after you try those props, let me know how you like em! I may try that 25P tempest before I go to a Fury.

For overall performance, I would have that Tempest worked or try a Bravo 1 XS 25 or 26... I'm currently running a 25 Tempest (runs great hole-shot to top end) and am looking for a Bravo to test. I keep hearing how good these are for this boat... What should the Pro XS be propped to? 5950 loaded?

I will tell you Steve has been doing this a long time. I would listen to him. They will usually help you with a few different props if they have one and let you try it and see if it works. I know a guy who has a Champion and the guy down at Steve's met him at the lake and help him get it going. He was extremely happy with the prop and service by Steve's

My 206 with about 3/4 tank gas 2 people, no water in wells runs 69-70 at about 6k. That's pushing her for all she has. I do run a yamaha hpdi though but prop is a 25

Thanks for all the info. Sounds like I need to go see steve and take both props with me and try em out and see if they can get me set up right.

When I go to BBC website and look at the Champion section, it looks like most guys with the 206 are running 25P props. one guy had a 27P. but 95% were running a 25P.

Running a 26 bravo on mine. Get 65-70 out of her... But you didn't buy this model for speed.. You got it to go where no other boat will go when it gets ruff.

I have about a 4 second hole shot, but nose does lift up kind of high.

Mike, What kind of hole shot do you get on yours?
