I am trying to figure out if I want to put a Lowrance GEN 2 Touch onto another boat, what accessories do I need to pick up? I want to ensure it does mapping, downscan and sidescan. Thanks

If it's TOUCH ( 7, 9, 12 ) then you need the LSS 2 StructureScan transducer and 2D transducer. Assume it's not Insight mapping, then get a Navionics + card.

If it's a NON Touch, then you need the above, plus add the LSS2 StructureSan box.

I would recommend either a Nav+ Region card or a Platinum card for your region, same nautical mapping, but the platinum offers 3d and google overlay for $199.99. The Nav+ region is the same mapping, but without 3d and google overlay for $149.99, this card just came out this year. Both cards come with the Sonar Chart layer.

Thank you both for answering the post. I am trying to get a new Gen 3 on my boat (boat 1 )and use the Gen 2 touch on my dad's boat (boat 2), hopefully be able to share it when he's not using it. I assume that if I buy the above and put it on boat 2, that I won't need anything else on boat 1 to run the Gen 3? Unless I need need to have an upgraded transducer to run the Gen 3?

Everything will work the same on either boat. Now the Gen 3 has the ability to do a few different accessories with some advanced features but the 2D sonar and LSS2 StructureScan will work on all HDS units.
