I assume you have a 2D sonar transducer? Make sure you have the correct Sonar TD type selected in the Advanced settings. There should be a tag about 3-6 inches from the blue connector which has the TD info on it - in case you don't know.

I've got a 2D and structure scan transducer.

Did it work before? If so it sounds like the sensor might be bad, not the unit.

If you are using the HDI transducer I don't think it has a temp sensor.

So you said new transducers in OP. What models?

PDRT-WBL has external temperature suitable for thru-hull.
PDT-WBL has temperature suitable for outside hull(TM or transom).
PD-WBL does not.
http://www.lowrance.com/en-US/Products/Transducers/PDRT-WBL-DepthTemperature-Transducer-en-us.aspx

If correct model of transducer, then check Settings or attempt to swap HDS unit to determine in HDS or transducer issue.
Do you see good sonar reading which would tell that HDS does see the transducer?

Check following settings:
Settings->Sonar_>Installation
Settings->Network->Data Sources->Sonar

Thanks for the input. I'll check settings. It worked before but I have been messing with the settings so I could have changed something.

Go to the Network settings and reconfigure (automatic). Had a similar problem and Lowrance tech support provided this solution and it worked.

Mine does this from time to time. Not sure why though. Def don't think anything is broken though from what you are saying!

go to "menu" then "settings" then I think its "data inputs" then you'll see "water temperature" then you hit it and then select "your"(HDS-9 should be what it shows) graph from the list. mine shows 2 units but I think that is because it reads the front and back one. I think I have it right if I remember when I get home will double check the steps.
