My first post. A short while ago I took a young friend to fish in the Colleyville Park ponds. When fishing the westernmost pond the youngster snagged and could not get his lure free. I went to help, reached out to grab the submerged tip of a small limb, and pulled up a trotline running all the way across the little pond. Lifted and stretched the whole line and found 14 small catfish hooked on it. We called the Teas Parks & Wildlife 800# on the spot. I've not followed up with Colleyville. The same scumbag may try to steal candy from children's Halloween bags, so keep your eyes open when the kids are trick or treating. Look for a very low form of humanity.

Trotlines are prohibited by state law. Pity that. Before someone argues that trotlines are not prohibited in Texas, I suppose I should clarify that they are prohibited by state law in Community Fishing Lakes. The waterbody in question appears to be a Community Fishing Lake.

Is that the same pond where the kid caught the big 50lb blue cat? If so maybe somebody trying to catch another one which there may or may not be one. I know of a 21 pound flattie caught in Hurst and I know of a 35 and 25 lb blue that have been released in another local pond just for fun to give some kiddo a big thrill if they ever bite. A trotline in any of the city parks is a big fine waiting to happen.

From Genesis: "And God promised men that good and obedient wives would be found in all corners of the earth."
Then He made the earth round...and He laughed and laughed and laughed!
