Do any of you fish for cats on Possum Kingdom or Bridgeport? Not trot lining but with rod and reel. I plan on shifting gears and doing more cat fishing this fall. Just need some tips and pointers as I'm new to the cat fish hunt. Thanks.

I've fished Bridgeport a bit before. There's a good population of channel cats in there and usually any kind of punch bait will work good to put some in the boat. I haven't caught any personally, but I have seen some good flatheads come out of there.

For Pk, I would focus on blue cats from Costello Island up to the river mouth. There's a good amount of trees along the channel ledge which will hold some good fish this time of year.

Blues have shown up in Bridgeport in the last two years. We always catch channels and some blues when bait fishing for Hybrids.

Seems I have caught more kitties than hybrid or sand bass this year!
