My Wife and I were both off on Wednesday, we were supposed to take our niece out a couple weeks ago, but the flu changed things smirk. Anywho, she played hookey after lunch Wednesday and we hit Ray Roberts about 3pm-7. Did the best I have ever done, most of it due to everything I have learned from reading anything I can on these forums. I knew zero about crappie fishing when I started in July. Still don't know much, but slowly getting better.
Minnows and a Pink jig head with Texas Toast color did the trick. The big guys seemed to be really deep. My Niece hauled in a 13 incher, we were all pumped! Overall 17 keepers, lost a few keepers when they hit the surface. Probably caught 30+ and a few bass.

Do you guys have any tricks for when you just keep catching smaller crappie? Went out yesterday and seemed to only manage 9 inchers or less. Did catch a couple nice ones, but it was nothing like Wednesday. Just fishing I guess, still better than work!! Have a good weekend everyone.

I see you continuously get better and better! That's awesome! The biggest key truthfully is just continuing to find new and more water. Different places are better on different days. The hard part is when you find one or two places to fish that you normally catch them and bypassing them. You just have to keep expanding. You're doing it right though! Congrats!

Good times and fish to eat, nothing better.

You know if I would have pulled Kenny out of school early to fish, the ex would have grilled my ace over an open fire, she had a blast Chris! Nice catch.

Thanks Cody. Trying to get as much in as I can while the weather is so great, pulling the Bow out soon for the whitetail rush.
