I have never fished with a guide before and wondered what is an appropriate tip.
All day trip on San Marcos river, fee $300, 1 person.

It's all about the experience, and what you feel comfortable with. But I think 10-20% is the norm.

Tip according to quality of service you receive...I would go $30 to $50 for good to excellent service respectively.

Having worked as a guide, any tip is a nice bonus, but 15-20% was what I usually got when we had a good day fishing. Also tip the guide based on how hard he worked and how much he catered to you, not on how many fish you catch.
