Well did the wind blow or what.

Fishing today was a real challenge. Not a choice on where to fish, just where you could hold the boat. 14 keepers hooked, 10 landed. They were big ones though. Three looked to be 1.5# range and several others looked to be 1.25# range. didn't weigh any. Friday forecast looks better but Sat. is iffy on wind.

Good Luck in the Tournament.

Is there a specific weather app or forecaster you use to look at? I have gone out here more times than I can count when wind was supposed to be ~4-5 mph but it felt more like 12-15.

I looked at a couple of forecasts and one says Sat 15 mph, the other says 20 mph. Mind you I am not going out when its that windy but wondering if you or anyone else has found one forecast more reliable than the other in those terms.

That said, I'ld take 10 every day just to be out on the water. smile

ACCUWEATHER is very good as well.

COMING SOON! .. THE STICKLE HOOK " the stay level sickle hook". sits level in the water with all knots.! Provides better hook sets and more natural jigging motion. No more adjusting the knot, gluing , or tying loop knots that cause the hook point to tangle in the loop, or worse knick the line.. The jighook that will make all others obsolete !

It was definitely a challenge. We have students at our barrel racing schools who have a really bad run on their last run of the school and are pretty disappointed. When we ask them why they came, was it to win a prize or learn something, they answer "to learn something". Then we ask them if they learned something they usually say yes. If that was the goal and they learned therefore they were successful. Point being, I learned quite a bit today which is why I went. Would have been great if the weather had cooperated and had caught more fish but I accomplished what my goal was, to learn more about crappie fishing from a master who has probably forgotten more than I'll ever know. Thanks.

Yesterday was real tough Ernest! We only brought home 17 and a cat. We couldn't fish where we wanted either just a hand full of protected piles and even those were tough to stay on. Nice job!
