Water temp 85 to 90 degrees. No wind, water was like glass. Water level is down 18 inches. Water looked stained more so than the norm.
I was on the water by 1:30 pm and off by 5:30 pm. First trip in three months. Fish were feeding in open water at somewhere between 12 to 16 feet. Caught 14 in all, 12 of then we're in the three pound range. The other two were smaller. I had a complete knee replacement six weeks a go, so yes, this was a much needed fishing trip. I got my rod bent and my drag pulled, so the trip was a successful fishing fix, I feel better already. LOL

Hey folks, on Fayette lake they have dropped the water level by 18 inches. They do this during the winter months. Any way, I want to warn everyone about the underwater hazards. Over the past six years I have seen about a third of the timber in this lake break off just under the surface. I read a report a few days a go where a guy hit one and has caused some fiberglass issues. And this guy is somewhat familiar with the lake, so slow down and be safe people. Tearing up your boat, or sinking it is not worth it.

Well shoot, I'm going back out there Saturday around 11 am, Hope I don't find some stumps with my boat, but sure am hoping to find a few feeding bass. My knee still isn't doing all that great, but I need some on the water time, so I'm going no matter what.

Well, I caught plenty of fish but I didn't get the fishing fix that I needed. I found a few decent fish, but the majority were smaller fish. I moved all around, but every time I pulled up to a place, it would be occupied already. There were a few tournaments going on and I didn't crowd anyone even a little bit. So I fished several areas I've never fished before. But it was nice weather, great day to be on the water. I need to go back soon so I can get my fix though. I only had one fish that pulled good, but ended the day with eighteen bass.

And I think my partner caught somewhere around 10 or 12, same thing smaller fish. Just another fun day on the water.
