What is the best fuel additive to help fight the ethanol issues in gas?

That's what I've use in the past. But I had a guy tell me that stabile would gum up after time. I always thought that's what it was supposed to prevent.

Just wasn't sure with all the products on the market now days.

sea foam is also good
have used stabil for years with no problems
keep it in your boat every single time -- a lot of times people forget {im gonna go back soon so i dont need to do it this time)
then they have fuel problems - gotta blame someone
any major market product will work fine if you use them with diligence !

The 2 stroke shops in my area all say to use Startron...it works for my 2 cycle yard equipment. Before using Startron, I had to replace primer bulbs and fuel lines every 2 years. Based on this, I now use it in my boat fuel tank.

I run seafoam every few tanks and stabil all the time. Also use seafoam in everything I own that burns gas and have never had to deal with ethanol issues.

I use a Racor water separator filter that gets changed every year.

Still need Stabil and Seafoam or something similiar...

Best way to fight ethanol is to write your Congressmen/women and demand the repeal of the ethanol mandate. E15 will be here next year unless action is taken.

Is there a particular type of seafoam to use, just as stabil has the marine version of their product?

early on stabil was red-- non ethanol--blue for ethanol---now both are for ethanol

Additives simply raise the saturation level of the fuel. The water is still there, the additives just let it hold more before it separates. It helps, but only kind of.

A little Startron every time I put gas in the boat. No issues since I started using it several years ago. I did have some fuel issues before that using blue Stabil for ethanol.
