Fished Lake Mcqueeney with a friend of mine using Kayaks. We launched from my friend's backyard and fished the eastern end of the lake. Water temperature was between 74 and 76 degrees and the water was clear in some areas and stained in other areas. We fished from 9am till 3pm. We caught some nice Bluegill in the eight inch range,Redbreast in the 8 to 9 inch range, two Rios in the nine inch range, and rounding out the catch were some two to four pound bass. Ultra Light spinning gear was used. Spinning baits such as yellow black Rooster Tails,Chartreuse/Black Roadrunners,Gulp Alive Minnows, and Gulp Alive Night Crawlers were all used with good results. Fish were located by docks, overhanging tree limbs and bridge pillars. The Rios were caught in a canal in about 5 feet of water holding by a gravel bank. Ten Bluegill were kept for the frying pan and the rest of the fish were released. About 50 nice fish were caught. Hope to hit it again either Thursday or Friday.

Curtis.

Nice Report Curtis. thumb Yes the fish are active. Glad you and Jeff got on em. How deep were you guys fishing? thumb

Side Note: If you guys were using live night crawlers you would have had 100 fish! hooked

Can't believe you left the fly rod at home. I've been killing the sunfish, bluegill and bass every day with the fly rod and small poppers. At times, they have been completely ignoring my subsurface flies in lieu of the poppers.

I've never fished McQueeney before. Sounds like a great day of fishing. Thanks for the report.

Nice report! That lake has really changed over the years. I can remember when there was a public ramp there!

Fished Mcqueeney yesterday afternoon from 2 to 6pm. Caught at least 30 nice sunnies. Mainly Redbreast and Bluegill. Fish were in the 7 to 9 inch range and fat. Also caught about five Channel Cats in the 2 to 5 pound range and a nice bass that was about 4 pounds. Kept 10 sunnies and two Channels for the frying pan. Fish were holding on the bottom by docks in 12 to 15 feet of water! Fish were caught in the main lake.
