But going down a day early. Hoping to get some fish for the freezer on Friday. We will be fishing for Bull Reds with the guide, so wanting to get my meat from the bank. Any pointers as to a spot to load up on whiting and other tasty fish of the surf?

Thanks in advance,
Scooter

Go to Galveston's Pleasure Pier or the 61st Street Fishing Pier.........don't need a guide for Big Reds if you don't have a boat, just the right tackle. By boat, the most likely spots to go for those big things are between the end of the South Jetties and the Big Whistle Buoy if it's still there, the Gas Wells north of the Bolivar Ferry near the HSC may produce, the "Stern" of the ole Concrete Ship is another place and finally...........Feener Flats and the end of the TC Dike!!
