I pulled in this 3 pounder and several smaller ones fishing a canal that connects to the west shore of Lake Okeechobee last Sunday. Not bad for a 1:00 pm bite, and bank fishing a spot I have never seen before.
I was using a Controlled Descent Jerk Shad set to float with a 1/8 oz pinch weight about 12" inches up the leader. Most of the fish were caught tight to the vegetation on all three canals that I fished.
