Made our first trip to Cleburne to camp.

We stayed in spot #10. It had water and 30 amp power. Table and fire ring. That is the basic site and those are $16 a night. The area is beautiful and has plenty of great hiking trails and biking trails. I would say the sites themselves are very small and very close to each other. I selected #10 because it was larger than many but when our neighbors showed up our tents were only a few paces away from each other.

Some people might not mind that, the people where friendly and all, but I like a little more space.

The showers and bathroom were ok. Nothing fancy but hot water and toilets and that worked. I like showers so that is nice to have.

Ranger was telling me they fill up almost every weekend so book early! You cannot book a specific site, but can reserve what campground you will be in.

All in, great scenery, nice amenities including the hiking trails, fishing was just so-so, campsites are nice but are small. The first night (Thursday night) before it got really busy there were deer walking through the camp area that was cool to see.

Overall I give Cleburne 6 out of 10 for camping, 10 out of 10 for beauty, 4 out of 10 for fishing.

The rangers and staff were very helpful and friendly so they get a 10/10.

My wife and I stayed in one of their new cabins this past June. They have 2 bunk beds, a picnic table, AC, a fan and the standard fire ring and table outside. They were so new is still smelled of varnish. It looked like they are in the process of converting their screened shelters to cabins.

A lot of the RV spots are extremely un-level, so make sure you take plenty of blocks in case you get one of these spots. Other than that its a pretty nice park!

Thanks for all the information. Never been there but thinking about it. Good to know about the fishing and trails. Thanks again.
