Too much weight. Just gonna get a new powerhead for this one. The design is modular. This little motor just can't take all the hop-ups. Just gonna run it bone stock as a workhorse.

Get a Honda 5.5. Basically what your motor copied. But built with better castings and more precision.

Thx, Toad. Heard great things about the Honda since before I started hopping up mud motors. Really a billet crankcase is what's needed. Decided to go with a Champion motor. Gonna run it bone stock.
Added a new video on the first post that explains the ordeal.

I have a buddy that races go karts. He has these tweaked out Briggs and Stratton engines that run on methanol. I don't know how much power they make but the scream. Seam to be pretty reliable as he has run one for a couple seasons. And it's his fastest engine.

Yeah, water is way harsher environment than a race track. It's 800 times as dense as air. Reliability on the track doesn't translate to reliability on the water. If you've ever tried running in water, you know what I'm talking about. It's like running a car with 5,000lbs trailer up hill in first gear ad WOT all the time. The race track just doesn't compare.
Workhorses vs. Racehorses.

Yeah, if I run another race-type motor, I think the Briggs LO206 is the way to go. Race motor built from the ground up.
