I use 17 lb Mason Bass On mono line and it is a little thinner than most lines of this size. When using a bobber stopper, the large size stopper seems to slide up the line even when using a 1/4 oz weight. Wondering if the medium size stopper would hold better and still be able to slide a stopper of this size onto 17 lb mono?

What kind of bobber stops are you using. I use the rubber inline stops and have used them from 2lb diameter braid to 20 pound flouro and they worked fine

If you are using the bobber stops in really heavy cover you will feel it grab every limb it passes over. Rubber and wood don't get along. It feels just like a load up to me. Keeps me plenty busy setting the hook as I pitch and flip on slack line. When I pick it up and feel resistance the hook gets set. I like the round headed inline pegs. They have a slit in the round head for the line which centers the knot on the weight. They are sold at Academy. The diameter is a little smaller than the T-pegs and they are much softer.

MIKE:

I use the rubber ones that are somewhat football shaped. What I really wanted to know was the size. I am using the large size and it has tendency to slip up on nearly every cast. Considering dropping down to medium size to minimize the slippage but not sure it will fit onto 17 lb line.

Donald: I will have to search out the stopper you described that is sold by Academy. May be a better resolution?

6th Sense makes the best I found get the medium size and you will be gold work great on flouro or braid. I use them on 15-25lb test and 65lb braid.
