what are some things you all have good luck with when the rain stirs up the dirt and makes the water extremely dirty, I can never seem to get a bite, any tips would be great.

Flipping into tight cover. Slow moving presentations. Darker colors.

"Flipping into tight cover"..... As close as you can get. Hit it. ....and use dark colored baits.

Eat. Sleep. Fish.

^^^^^ Yes

Also, bladed jig and Colorado bladed spinnerbaits. Sometimes the deeper fish aren't as affected/sometimes they will suspend but still catchable with spoons; however, post front sunny blue bird skies + high muddy water, flipping tight to cover is where I'd start.

awesome I will give it a shot, does the deeper water stay clear... or at least clear enough? Would a nice black buzzbait do any good?

If you are fishing today after the lightning has passed; but the clouds are still thick, the black buzzbait can be lights out. The water closest to the dam will stay clearest the longest; also if they are releasing more water from the dam, there will be more current there. Then over the next few days, as the water starts dropping it can be like going from high tide to low tide with all the small bait being pulled out from the cover and off of flats into ditches, drains, and drop offs.

I think this cool weather will get them going bonkers!

Its been summer for a long time. We have been in the mid 90s all Sept and into the first week of Oct.

This cool front will get them feeding. Muddy water be darned they will be eating. Spinnerbaits, topwater, c-rip, traps.

Go throw something big and loud and bright and see if they dont want some.

I fished Lewisville this morning, during the rain (after the lightning passed). I started out throwing bluegill colored swim bait at the marina. Caught a few. Then switched to dark green/ red senko with 1/8 ounce pegged weight, pitched into the slips. Had to be really close to the walkways, on the outside corners. Had to hit the cross braces that went across the opening. Caught probably 20-25 fish, biggest being about 3 1/2 pounds. Everything was really tight.

Just the opposite for me and my partner, we fished Granbury all day and only caught a few small ones ,, it was our first trip to Lake Granbury so we did look around quite a bit,, I did realize it had so many stumps ,, it really looked like a good lake maybe it just wasn't our day,, we plan on going back next week

Bright orange shows up well in dirty water; fish don't seem to mind it
