Back in the very early 80's, maybe late 70's, folks on Whitney used a bass drum pedal pounding the bottom of their boats. Some guides would beat a heavy saltwater rod on top of the water to similate surface activity.
2 Thessalonians 1:6-10 In these verses, there are dire consequences for NOT obeying the gospel. What the world claims as "saved" isn't gonna cut it! Learn what it is, in an eye opening true story, "Muscle and a Shovel", by Michael Shank.

A dowel rod and a rubber cane cap is what I used for years. Probably costs a whole $5.00. You will get real good with your coordination thumping with one arm and jigging with the other.

Newbie here. All advice greatly appreciated. A Bobo Thumper is not feesible right now. I have used the butt end of another fishing rod a few times and it seemed to work. I do stick a firm rubber cap on it to keep from scarring deck or breaking rod butt. About 2 beats per second has worked best in the winter while dead sticking.-Mike

If you have Lowrance sonic hub then add a 12" sub woofer in the rod box and put on some Heebie Jeebie Hep Cat music, max out the bass and let the boat hull do the thumping. Sounds like one of them gangster cars driving down your street at night. You can fish with both hands on both sides of da boat at the same time.
From Genesis: "And God promised men that good and obedient wives would be found in all corners of the earth."
Then He made the earth round...and He laughed and laughed and laughed!

No need for thumping. If someone else is doing it right and you're not catching anything, you simply aren't close enough to them.
If you're not living on the edge, you're taking up too much space!

Would thumping work on a tritoon since the deck is out of the water?

Would thumping work on a tritoon since the deck is out of the water? I have some customers who use their thumper on pontoon boats. They say it works and are happy with it.
