Fished the Nueces Canyon with my good friend Louis. Louis lives in God's Country the Nueces Canyon, and he has taken me to some GREAT fishing holes throughout the canyon. We fished the other day and caught some very nice Bluegill,Rios, and Bass. Had two Bass that were about four pounds each. Caught numerous Rios in the 9 to 10 inch range. The Bluegill were in the 7 to 9 inch range. Rounding out the catch were some nice Longear. A total of about 50 plus fish were caught. All fish were healthy, fat, and full of fight. Fish were caught on worms using bottom techniques. Fish were holding by the deeper pockets of water next to weed or hydrilla beds. The water was crystal clear with good current. All fish were released. After a full day of fishing we headed to Mama Choles Mexican Restaurant located in beautiful downtown Leakey Texas for some DELICIOUS MEXICAN FOOD! Fishing the Nueces Canyon and enjoying good friendship. It just don't get any better! fish

Great post and pictures Chuck. Thanks for always bringing us along on your adventures thumb

I'm starting to see the signs of fall in the creeks. I caught lots of small bluegill and crappie today. Found a few bigger crappie as well. The LMB participated in the fun too. This cool front should push fall fishing into gear. I'm planning some vacation soon. After 2 years of flooding and things settling back to normal the fish are bunched up and plentiful. banana

Thanks C Worthy and Jamie for the replies. C Worthy: Yes Sir God is GREAT for giving us some very beautiful places to fish and enjoy! thumb Jamie: The bite has been GREAT all year and with the ample rain fall we have had the fish were pretty active also. It is only going to get better. These fronts that are starting to roll in will be turning them on for sure. hooked

You fish some very scenic places! Love those "Out in the middle of know where places"! Nice fish and report.

Side Note: How long has your buddy Louis lived out there in that neck of the woods? He is living in some beautiful country.

Thanks Gitter for the reply! cheers I met Louis back in late July while fishing in the Canyon. He has lived out there for about 28 years. He knows where those "Blue Holes" are located! Great Man who has been driving trucks just about all of his life. He retired from a super company being both a driver and diesel mechanic. He has a great view of the canyon where he lives. All of the people he has introduced me to are FANTASTIC and their hospitality is SUPER! thumb
