Fished with Neil and Russ today on Lake Palestine.

The day started out good had about 15 in the boat until a unexpected wind storm with 30-40 mile winds out of the north.

So we cranked up and started back to the villages with 4-5 swells. Waves almost coming over the front of the boat and we weren't even in the main lake yet. So we nosed it on a bank behind a point. We waited it out an hour and half. Finally it blew through and we hit it hard and heavy.

Ended up with a two man limit 50 crappie!

Both guys are experienced crappie fishermen.

When the weather is bad don't chance it. Things can go fast on the water.

Thanks for toughing it out and fishing with me.

Very smart move! Fished a bass tournament on Sam Rayburn one year, Storm blew in from the north, eight boats swamped at the dam in half an hour. Luckily the tournament was broadcast on the radio or more could have been caught out on the main lake.Glad y'all made it!

Glad you were safe and still caught a mess of nice fish.

I sure wish the lakes would put in those weather stations like they have at schools, baseball/soccer fields, etc. that could warn the boaters. I will watch the weather but sometimes the storms seem to get on you in a hurry. The ones I seen at the fields will warn of bad weather a half hour before the storm hits.
