Club members caught 191 bass total on a cloudy morning that turned into a pretty darn windy day by 10 AM. The air temps did get pretty warm after 11 AM.

There were a lot of fish caught mainly on C- rigs, T-rigs, crank baits, top waters and drop shots. Same old story but it is true. The top water bite was not on for all except our 2nd place team.

1st place went to Steve Chick of Yantis with 16 fish for 12.4 with the 5.35 lunker of the day..
We only count the five largest.
2nd place went to Jack White of Yantis with 8 fish for 9.98 and a 3.64 lunker.
3rd place went to Bill Ailes of Sulphur Springs with 13 fish for 8.7 pounds and a 4.35 lunker.
4th place went to Jim DeVore of Quitman with 8 fish for 8.67 and a 4.25 lunker

We paid 5 places and had 29 anglers fishing and caught 191 fish. We have had problems coming up with nearly any slots until this tournament. Only one angler skunked in this today. It is Lake Fork

How are those weights even possible. Because we measure and release, and record on a laminated sheet.

The LFA fishes every other Thursday daytime at Lake Fork only. Persons interested in joining or fishing as a guest should e-mail me at or PM me on here.

Here is your opportunity to fish with friendly knowledgeable Lake Fork anglers for the cost of a $5 annual dues and a $13 entry fee. Slot fish count. No teams. We are currently at below cap and are looking for a some boaters who will also fill in as co-anglers if needed and we will also accept "guests" who generally get to fish when regular members are away.
Actually none of our guests has sat one out as yet. And we are also looking for co-anglers.

Sometimes Fork is a big question mark. But even though we don't always slay them a few will find them. This week more than a few slayed them
