So its been YEARS since I've done any consistent bass fishing and I just started getting back into it again this past month. I don't have a boat and so I'm a bank fisher for now. Several years ago (5yrs) my truck was broken into and all my fishing gear was stolen. It actually stopped me from fishing because I had so much in gear that I couldn't bring myself to go start buying all over again. Well now I'm back at it. I have a small bag that holds 5 tackle trays and pockets for soft baits so I've bought a few baits of stuff for now. Couple of rat-traps, crank baits, spinner baits, top water, three bags of worms and some hooks and slip sinkers. As far as rod and reels I've gotten some used and some new. Castaway spinning rod with cheap spinning reel, castaway rod and old shimano reel, all star rod and old shimano reel, all star rod and new revo sx, and a lew's BB1 needing a rod. Going to academy today to look at the Falcon Bucoo rods to put the Lew's on.

Anyways, all that to say hi, my name is Don and I'm active duty military with 16yrs service so far shooting for a 20yr retirement. Hopefully pulling the trigger on a bass tracker 175 next year. At least that's what I'm trying for haha.

Nice to meet you all and can't wait to get back into this wonderful adventure!

not sure if still on sale but the H2O express rods are $27 and no questions asked warranty. Hard to beat for someone trying to stay affordable IMO.

Thanks for your service, I had a professor at McMurry (in Abilene) named Don Frazier, weird coincidence.

Thanks everyone for the welcome!

I picked up the Falcon Bucoo Micro yesterday from Academy and paired it with the Lew's BB1 and man it is smooth and light. I really like it!

It'll be awhile before I'm able to pick up anymore gear but for now this will do.
