Thought I would share some pictures from my many trips on a few different Hill Country river systems from this past summer. I've been fishing the Llano river system for over 15 years now, but decided to branch out and do some fishing on the San Gabriel and a tributary of the Guadalupe. I've had tons of health issues the past 5.5 years and haven't been able to fish all that much. Finally, this summer I found a fantastic doctor who properly diagnosed me and has been treating my condition successfully. I've been able to get back to doing one of my favorite things: BASS FISHING!! I hope you enjoy the pictures.
It was extremely windy this day which made fishing a bit tough, but I still managed to catch this nice Largemouth.
4 pound Largemouth. Quite fun to catch on my 5'6" lightweight rod I was using that day
Solid Guadalupe Bass
As I was reeling this one in, my buddies dog decided to help out.
More help from the dog. This fish was swimming with another one that was twice it's size. She wouldn't bite though...
Caught this one in the thick cover. Was quite the fight as she went straight under my kayak into a bed of water willow.
Another nice Guadalupe Bass.
This one hit the bait before it even hit the water. Guess it was hungry.
I was eating lunch under a shade tree on the river bank and this bass came slowly swimming up right in front of me.
Flipped by bait out in front of her and BAM! The dog was entertained
And so was I.
This is my pride and joy of this summer. Right around 5.5 pounds and gave me the ride of a lifetime.
Perhaps the biggest bass I have ever caught out of a kayak.
Action shot of me fighting the fish in the pic above. My friend nailed this shot on his iPhone!
