Fished for an hour and a half before work this morning. 2mph wind and nice and cool...had to break out the planer boards and trolling motor to get me moving... Found some feeders out in 32 ft on bottom of ledge up in little elm branch. These boys were pissed off when I got them out of the water. CPR'd to fight another day. Back at office by 8:15...

I usually take mini me with me to Lavon

. Lots of 20-35 lbrs with some 40s and the occasional 50...I know Tom caught one in the 60s and my other guide buddy Steve catches some 60s from time to time...biggest I caught was 54...hopefully the slot limit will help them grow bigger...we will see in a few years if those 50s can grow into 60s

It seems to have more skinny slot fish than fat trophies.

I think the girth has a lot to do with diet...we used to keep big fish when I was a kid running trot lines with my pop...the skinny monsters would have a lot of clams, muck, I've even seen big skinny boy full of June bugs. The fattest fish we we would clean would almost always have a belly full of fish. Tons of sandbass, Shad, crappie, carp, I've even seen one with a full grown water turkey in his belly..if it were legal to fish with sandbass I would...haven't kept a big fish in 20 yrs but I do miss seeing what they are eating...I still love when a big monster pukes up his breakfast on my deck... I'm sick

Dang, your 10-1 post showed you caught them in 7 ft, now it's 32 ft, lol. I guess they are scattered in all depths.

No kidding! The lake is turning over and they are scattered big time. I was heading up north of Little Elm ramp to scout for water turkey roosts and I had to stop and scan the channel ledge on my way through...Sometimes you get lucky!

Hey brother I do have a question about your planer board s. I spend 99 percent of my time anchored and recently have been looking to add drifting to my skills. Obviously the summer pattern is a ton of drifting. Are the board s your go to ?
