I've always bought the $40 Kershaw when they go on sale for $20. Been a good knife for me and I use it for everything.

Boker are some of the better, non-custom pocket knives I have.

RAT folder is a GREAT knife for $25 shipped. For the $$$ you will not find a better knife IMO. It is a bit heavy as it has steel liners under the G10 scales and is a pretty big folder. Blade is AUS 8 steel. http://blog.bladeops.com/review-of-aus-8-stainless-steel.htmlsorry, went all knife geek on ya. It is a great knife.

Boker are some of the better, non-custom pocket knives I have. My brother swears by Boker and Eye Brand. I'm pretty tough on knives, using them from a hammer to a pry bar. It's a tool to me that I use for several applications some of which are not cutting.

The Buck Bantam folding knives my boys and I carry are available for about $12 at Walmart. They last a long time, hold up to hard fishing use, are very light, and it's not a big deal when one gets dropped into the water. We have a nice Lansky sharpening system which works well when a knife is really dull, but we hardly use it since we got a Smiths 2-Step Knife Sharpener: http://www.smithsproducts.com/product/ccks/I loaned my knife last weekend to an expert and he was impressed by how sharp it was, said I must be a boy scout. Yep, still got that attitude about pocket knives.

I've got Case, Buck, Western (good luck finding one of those) And a few others. I carry several in different sizes for different uses. My normal use knife is a kershaw spring assisted speedsafe and I really am impressed with it. It may be larger than you want but it's a good size for anything from cutting fishing line to gutting a deer. Fast to deploy and I can open and close it with one hand.
I'm on other forums that deal with the old turbo powered Buicks.;)

Ditto on the Work Sharp. I have the original but will probably upgrade to the Ken Onion edition soon.
