Anyone going to Aquila today? I hit a stump yesterday with my little 2 man boat. It capsized and I had to swim to dairy hill ramp. I need some help getting it back to the ramp. Its beached now, but need a tow to the ramp. Want to get it home before someone strips it or steals it. I will pay for gas if someone is going that way today. Also the swim to the boatramp was a long one. Glad I had my life jacket on. Any help will be appreciated

If that happens again send me a note. I live in Peoria.

I'm on other forums that deal with the old turbo powered Buicks.;)

Wow nice to hear you made it safe. Shouldn't have been too bad of a swim..? smile I know HB has a great support hotline so you might contact them.. Ya this forum is great for recourses and even on a lake not so "popular" like aquilla. Beautiful place. Love the forum!

Swim wasn't bad. Had the jacket on. Heard back from hb yesterday. Flat rate of $224.95 for evaluation, repair, or replacement. Wow, I only gave $100 for it used from fellow member. I can get a new helix unit for $220. Guess ill start ff shopping again. Expensive lesson. Already had to replace my phone. The "dry bags" aren't so dry after all.

Dont pay the repair, just get a new one. I am electronic engineer and repairing pcb boards is part of my daily job, if you are going to throw it away please let me take the chance to see if it can be repaired. Do this, open it and check for some signs of a smoked part. If you have access to a thermal camera, turn it on and check if something is getting super hot drawing a lot of current from the power supply.

Buton,

thanks for the info. understand, im an electronic tech myself. i checked the board and looked for the obvious. nothing looks out of the ordinary other than some corrosion already started. i will play with some more when i get back home from offshore. if i decide to trash it, ill send it to you to see what you think.

I heard new pampers can be used to plug large holes in boat , just roll em up tight and shove them in the hole .

I feel for you. I have swam in Aquilla twice. Both times it was well below freezing and I was wearing waders. You are obviously a better accident planner than I am, because your hair didn't turn to ice. Glad you are ok. That is the most important thing.

You didn't happen to find a semi auto 12 gauge on the bottom when you were diving for your fishing rod did you?
