Been finding a few, not many keepers. They are back to their old late summer hang outs.

standing timber has been my best luck, no limits yet but solid fish.

Try to find some cleaner water, I had to go past the elevator today, almost to hybrid sandbar. found some new stuff in 14 feet, an isolated section of submerged trees, and it delivered some quality fish. Belton crappie will move a long way to get away from milkshake muddy water. not sure why its so yukked up, maybe fall turnover? Ive been looking at areas that have all the right stuff, like a gradual flat that drops down into deeper water, with some shallow sloughs behind it, or near it. timber lines in the area are also a bonus. once I find what im looking for, then I try to find timber or brush in that area. belton has alot of submerged trees, and the crappie dont have to settle for just any old tree. Im trying to look at the contours thinking, "where would crappie go at night to feed on shad, and where would they stage in the morning to rest, and hang out during the day, thats not too far from the feeding area.
the south end of the lake is not near as good as the north end, but you have to have some spots on the mid lake to south end when the water gets trashed on the north end.

COMING SOON! .. THE STICKLE HOOK " the stay level sickle hook". sits level in the water with all knots.! Provides better hook sets and more natural jigging motion. No more adjusting the knot, gluing , or tying loop knots that cause the hook point to tangle in the loop, or worse knick the line.. The jighook that will make all others obsolete !
