I have always bought Kershaws, but their clips stretch and bend easily. I'm glad they are affordable since I've lost several due to the clips. A good friend gifted me a couple Benchmade knives and they are the best I've ever owned. I don't see myself paying 3 times the price of a Kershaw for a Benchmade though if it was my money.

I've carried a Victorinox Executive for many many years and it's perfect for what I use it for. Tough little knife, too.

Boker are some of the better, non-custom pocket knives I have. Boker (Tree Brand) Eye Brand, Kissing Cranes, Hen & Rooster, just make sure that you buy the ones with the Solingen Steel blades in them, the others are a pain in the rear to keep sharp! All of the above are owned by Frost Cutlery, which owns nearly every brand of "old time" knife ever made with the exception of case. Most all are assembled in China with german steel and parts. They are not the same as the originals, Only the trademarks are.

Buck 110 it's a little heavy but there when you need it. $40 range. Yep, love the 110.

I am case knife guy. I have a collection of about 50 case knives. I really only carry two. I carry a slimline trapper from the 70's or a trapper made a few years ago. I use the lansky sharpening system if my knife is really bad but I typically touch my knife up on a homemade strop every few times I use it so my knifes don't see a stone too often. On my trapper I keep one blade at a normal sharp working edge and the other razor sharp... I rarely use the razor sharp blade unless needed to maintain the thin edge.

Victorinox Executive for me. It was my father in law's who passed last year. I carried a small Swiss Army knife for years and before that a Buck.
