just returned,
Myself and 9 other guys fished inshore friday and saturday, Friday was out of Port A, guides were Mitch Collins, Jimmy Simmons and Butch Findley. The guys on Mitch Collins and Jimmy Simmons's boat had their limits of reds within two hours hours, although fishing in different areas of the bay both guides had located good populations of reds on shallow shell beds, after limits of reds both boats went searching for schools of black drum, the cloudy sky and windy conditions made it difficult to stay in contact with the located schools. but when found the black drum were large. For the first time in 20 years of fishing with Butch, he had a rough time finding keeper fish.

Saturday was going to be difficult, a front blew through overnight, leaving behind high winds out of the north. This day Mitch Collins and Butch Findley took groups out of Port A, and Steve Schultz took a group of us out of Corpus / Laguna Madre with hopes of getting to Baffin Bay. The Port A guides had a rough day with a few redfish getting boated. With the wind Steve felt getting to Baffin Bay would be a beating so we stayed in the laguna madre, Steve found large reds and quite a few trout, from day break until 11am we caught fish on every spot, it slowed down as the day progressed. We did not get our limits but for the conditions it was a very good day.

i assume the large womens tournament "CCA/Babes on Baffin" being held this past weekend might have slowed the reports.
