Any tips for LMB at Ray Hubbard? Rip rap? Docks and boat slips. North end seems super shallow. Any grass on the lake? Just looking for general advice.

Regards
Blind.

Jeeze, I know those sailboat guys are a bunch of jerks but there's no need to call them floating trash piles.

No offense to others who have posted here or on the countless threads I have read about bass fishing Ray Hubbard in the past, but I am beginning to believe the "Fish SLOW" advice is an attempt at trolling. Fishing rocks slow on Hubbard has netted me exactly nothing but countless lost Jigs and Texas Rigs to snags. It was nothing for me to lose $30 in jigs, cranks, sinkers and hooks to Ray Hubbard Rip Rap. Several years ago I gave up on the "slow" tactic and started fishing fast. Burning Rattle Traps, hopping creature baits just a they touch a rock, maybe even sooner, cranking down Crank Baits till they bump bottom them kill it and let em float to minimize snags and guess what, my numbers of bass in the boat increased. Maybe because thats what the fish want or maybe because I spent less time tying on new lures, who knows but it works! Come January and Feb guys will be saying fish deep fish slow, and I'll be fishing shallow and fast and putting limits in the boat like years previous. To each his own and maybe I just suck at fishing slow but if you are like me and find yourself losing more lures than your pocket book can handle, try fishing fast and see if it doesn't produce!!

Ha, I have read about those things but never actually seen anyone using them. Sorta reminds me of being on the golf team over a decade ago when guys carried around these telescopic ball retrievers in their bags so they could try and get balls back out of water hazards. I always just figured that was the penalty for hitting a bad shot so I never carried one. What I do these days when I feel the need to fish rocks slow is just Texas rig creature baits. My results on T-Rigged creatures are about as good as fishing jigs and they seem to be more resistant to snags in the rocks. Plus when you do lose one it is much cheaper than replacing $6 football jigs. All that being said I still seem to have more luck fishing fast. I caught 10 keepers one day earlier in the week and all came on quick moving lures run over rocks or along ledges. Today I put 3 in the boat in about an hour and a half the last of which came on a T-Rigged creature so I decide to change pace and fish slower. Went three hours with nothing so I switched back to a Rattle Trap and boated two more before the sun went down. Who knows maybe its just a confidence thing or maybe I just cant fish slow! bang

I caught five on a Chatterbait on Saturday myself. Fished seemed willing to chase a bait to me.
