New boat equipped with gen3 12 and a 9. Question.
What frequency for
Sonar?
Side imaging?
and Down imaging?
And why if you don't mind explaining.

200/800 will give you the clearest pictures. 83/455 is like turning on ZOOM, but typically shows more clutter. Some will disagree but that's how I see it.

If your Gen 3 has Chirp try them. Sometimes clearer than 200 or 83.

I run 200/800 most of the time. Every now and then I'll swicth to 83 to get a larger footprint of the bottom if drifting shallower water or something, but it's rare.
