Fished it before we got all the rain this past week. Picked up a few nice ones in the 3 to 4 pound range. Fishing crank baits in 15 to 20 feet of water by drop offs and ledges.

Fished it Sunday, caught about 40+ fish in a few hours before that rain/front blew in around 2pm or so and I got off the water. 3lb was my largest. The week before I caught a bunch in the 15' range but this weather seemed to have them all really shallow. Most of the ones I caught were in 5' or less with nearby deep water. Rock structures seemed to be key, especially the ones with larger rocks that made little ledges. Any color fluke jr on a dropshot worked wonders, watermellon seemed best but I went through that bag quick and they kept biting the other colors anyway. I caught fish on several casts in a row several times. It was one of the most productive periods on the water ive ever had. I had a few bites on a squarebill and two really cool topwater blowups, but that dropshot was what they were wanting all day long.

Hey guys, thanks for the report. Had a great day fishing! Caught all my fish on a light C-rig today. Water temp is 80 degrees. Winds very light. Plastics were tipped with spike it. Does my heart good to see this lake full of water and happy fish! Love ya Deener!

Joe's Marina
Red's Cove
County Park

For now these ramps are open, lake level is declining as both dam valves are open and gushing south.

Politics, and who has the deeper pockets control the lake. It's always been that way for as long as I can remember.

Just one more cast!

Fished Medina Lake 10/14/16. Fishing was good! Caught several 2 to 3 pounds along the rocky shore drop offs. All safely released!

My friend has been fishing off the bank out there the last two weekends. He said the lake came down two feet since last week. really? really? why do they need to pull so much water off that lake now? There cant be that much need for irrigation water at this time of year and the aquifer is waaaaaay above average levels. I don't get it.
