Fished the Sabinal River and the bite was good. With all of the recent and current showers that have been occurring in the area the river is in great shape and the fish are very active.Caught several nice Longear and a bunch of Redbreast. Rounding out the catch were some Bluegill and a couple of small bass. Fish were healthy and full of fight. All fish were released. Fish were caught by overhanging tree limbs and by the edges of grass beds. Worms with a bottom technique were used. A day fishing the Sabinal River. It just don't get any better! fish

Nice! I've really been getting the itch lately, but work has been crazy busy and the weekends are too crowded for my liking. Glad to see you could make the time to get a line wet.

Looks like you were fishing by my family's property. I think that is our house in the background of the last picture. I have spent many an hour fishing the Sabinal from 11 miles north of Utopia to 10 miles south of town.

Nice fish Chuck. woot

Side Note: Myself and Jeff Kayaked the Sabinal this past April. Caught some nice Redbreast. Very nice water just up from Utopia. Fishing from a yak really opens up a lot more places to fish. You should possibly consider it! hmmm

Next time you go in the Lost Maples, take a look at some of the newspaper articles on the wall in picture frames. They were written by my mother. She was the local historian. Wrote a lot of articles in the Uvalde paper and several books on the history of Utopia.
