I think I'm going to take a weekend off from fishing Falcon and I am going to make the drive down Sunday morning to fish either Conroe or the Sabine. Any suggestions on how either are fishing? I'm never been to Conroe and I haven't fished the Sabine in 15 years.

The Sabine is easier to catch fish on than Conroe if size doesn't matter. Lots of bait in the river and the bass are chasing them. Just fish the Bluebirds area and the logging cuts north of Interstate 10 on Texas side. Plenty of bass in those areas for fun fishing. I found that a Zoom finesse worm Texas rigged with a 1/8 sinker, small hook, and 8 lb line will catch them most days around cypress stumps, laydowns, and drains. Early you might start with a small topwater or 1/4 buzzbait. Good luck wherever you fish!
