Hi Guys, I'm planning on hitting the Cedar Bayou/ Vinson Slough area of matagorda this weekend and was scouting boat launches. I normally do goose island sp and shoot up the ICW to mesquite bay and work my way over, but came across a boat ramp on google maps in the Aransas National Wildlife Refuge. Interestingly, there's a trailer in the parking lot, but i don't see anything online about this boat ramp. It's a little channel right by mustang lake. Is this a public access ramp? If so, any info you could send my way? It'd greatly cut the boat ride. Here's the pin on google earth: https://www.google.com/maps/dir/28.2312936,-96.7991242//@28.2425241,-96.799894,6454m/data=!3m1!1e3

I called the refuge and it's not a public ramp.

I know the guy that runs the GISP campground, and I asked him what happens if you get back from fishing after the park closes?, and he told me they will give you the code to get out after hours, if you plan on leaving late. Good info to know.

There is also a public ramp (free) just north of GISP on Lamar Beach Road. It's just south of 4th Street. We have left our trucks and trailers there for days (while camping in Mesquite Bay, interestingly enough) and never had them tampered with.
