I saw this on FB today also. I sure hope the TPWD is actively working on the problem.

That's bad. It's been floating around the lake all year so it will be getting worse. This might be a dumb question but are you sure that's giant salvania?

I hate to see that. Nothing man made so far has been effective in controlling it. Cold weather will kill it though.

The air boats have been out there in force doing quite a bit of spraying lately on both Rayburn and T-Bend.

I know boats spread it but it's been in Taylor's down here for a while and I wouldn't know how it got here except by birds or something like that. There's no waterway that connects to any of these infected lakes so that is what makes me question if it's actually giant salvania and not just salvania.

Let loose the bugs that eat it, in massive quantities.

Could be water cabbage. Looks just like salvinia.

despite what everyone says but doesn't do there is still Giant Salvinia in Chaney Branch at Fork. And it has spread outside the boom which uncaring boaters ride over all the time.

If you go near there you can see little booms in the little coves. That is where it as spread too.

I hate to hear that because the wind can blow in 4 different directions at the same time on Fork. Will be tough to contain and impossible to eradicate if it gets out of Cheney. I would encourage everyone on fork who sees it floating along to pick it up and get it off the water ASAP.

I agree with picking it up but you will be in deep $#!+ if you get caught transporting invasive species, especially giant salvania.

I would imagine being tidal waters that with a good south wind/incoming tide it pushes up into Taylors from the ICW. Plenty of it coming down the Neches and Sabine.
