my 2005 ranger z21with a yamaha hpdi 250 with a 10in plate and a 25t1 prop the boat will porpoising at low speed up until about 38 to 42mph the problem started after i added the to 10 ft power poles, i have tried alternating fuel tanks and moving everything possible to the front i know this is somewhat the nature of these boats but never did before adding the poles, would a hydraulic plate have any advantages? i seen where someone bbc had added trim tabs i have some 5deg motor wedges that i have orderd but not yet installed they look a little extreme maybe should have gotten the 2 deg insted any one ever ran into this problem any help would be greatly appreciated.

you can take a boat that preforms well an hang 75 lbs a foot off the back of the boat an it will preform differently.

Does the boat have a jackplate on it now or did they mount the poles with a sandwich bracket? If it does then you might need a little more bight added to the prop.

a hydraulic plate will get rid of that mid range porpoise by lowering it down.
i would not install those wedges, as it will take away max available trim.

do like josh says.. get the prop looked at first, then add a hydraulic plate later
if you want. (btw, i have them on sale)

also take a good look at the mounts on the power poles.. you want them high enough
so they don't drag. you can loosen the side bolts on the slide master and raise the poles
as high as they will go. that might help some too.
